Can Laxative Be Taken For Constipation After Hysterectomy?
I had a hysterectomy on Tuesday, and was released to go home yeaterday. I ahve not yet had a bowel movement, though I am on a stool softener. I can tell that my stool is hard, but I am afraid to push, because I do not want to aggravate the incision site. Can I take a laxative to help?
Hi, thanks for writing.. Yes take some laxative at night to soften the stools and to start good bowel movements. You can also use bisacodyl suppository to soften the stool. Putting excessive strain while passing motion is not advised at this stage.Hope I have answered your query.
