Can Laxatives Cause Delayed Menstruation?

Hi, my period is late. I ve been taking prunelax for about a month now because I have problems going to the bathroom, without the laxatives I only go about twice a week . I ve also lost about 6 pounds since I started taking the laxatives, could that be the reason why I m late?
