Hi. Im 22 years old I work for an auto parts company, where I carry heavy things. I have been working for the company 3 yrs. My back started to hurt a couple of weeks ago. I went to a clinic and the doctor told me I have scoliosis, can it be possible to have scoliosis from lifting heavy things and caring them on the side of my shoulder.

Dear welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

Yes your doubt is true, lifting heavy weight and then carrying them specially on one shoulder can lead to scoliosis.

You need to modify the way you lift the weight. Take help from your co workers to lift the weight. Discuss with your boss about your problem. Make a routine where you need to do different work with less burden on alternate days. Do regular exercises to counter the damage done. Take physiotherapy now for few days for better recovery.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for more queries. I wish you good health and rapid recovery. Kindly provide a feedback on this reply. Thanks
