Can Light Exercise Cause Sharp Pain In Lower Abdomen?

I recently began an exercise regiment, nothing strenuous, but shortly after I noticed spotting. Now I am no longer spotting but for the past two days I have had a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen. It hurts to sneeze or cough. Should I contact my doctor or could this just be do to the exercise?
