Can Light Headedness Be Caused As A Withdrawal Of Abrupt Discontinuing Of Nixito?

Hello Doctor, Male 29/teetotaler, nexito 20 for two months till 8th december 2013, however, from 23/dec/2013, experiencing lightheadedness and fluctuation in BP (140/95) and 120/80 within 15 mins. ECG, Eco stress test absolutely fine. Q. can lightheadedness be caused as a withdrawal of abrupt discontinuing of Nixito

Nexito is escitalopram which is an antedepressant of SSRI(selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor).It shouldnt be stopped abruptly as some withdrawal symptoms like acute depression,electric shock sensation,unpleasant sensation,irritability are reported in patients doing so.The Blood pressure fluctuations and lightheadedness can be due to that.So it is better to approach your treating physician or psychiatrist in this case.Hope this may help you.
