Can Listening To High Pitch Sound For Prolonged Period Cause Severe Ear Pain?

An elderly person was talking near my ear in high pitch for an hour in cinema theatre. I could not avoid due to circumstances Late evening in my ear and surrounding area developed severe pain. I'm wondering whether the pain is due to the sound. please clarify.

Hi.
Yes, the pain can be due to exposure to the high pitched sound if you are not accustomed to such noises. Yet it would be better to ascertain the cause and rule out other problems by an ENT check up by a specialist.
