Can Long Term Intake Of Alertec Cause Side Effects?

I have been taking the Allertec (Costco) or Equate (Walmart) brand of Zyrtec of which all three claim to have the same active ingredients (10mg Loratadine). They also claim to work within 1 hour and last for 24 hours.I have to take 2 pills in the morning and 2 in the evening to get ANY relief at all !!! Are there any long term side effects for taking more medication than they recommend?

Hello,

Taking four tablets may can cause side effects like drowsiness or sleepiness, stomach pain, dry eyes, dry mouth, dry throat and diarrhea etc.

So you may use montelukast and levocetirizine in case of allergy. Avoid allergens.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
