Can Long Term Usage Of Betanoid Cause Enlarged Liver ?

HI, my doctor precribed a betanoid mixture for my 2 yr old son who had a bad cold and respitory infection. He didnt get better so I continued giving him the meds for almost two weeks. Then he started vomiting everyday and wouldnt eat, his cough continued as well. So i went back to the dr. He told me that my sons liver seems to be enlarged! And it could be the betanoid that caused it. He advised I stop using the meds and never give it to him again. Did I overdose my son?! Can betanoid do that? Do I have anything to worry about in terms of long term damage to his liver!? please advise
