Can Low Serotonin Levels Lead To Increased Sleep And Weight Gain In A Hypothyroid Person?
I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism I also have anxiety and some depression. I have gained 80 lbs in a year, while I teach aqua aerobics 4 times per week as well as take classes from other teachers and play water volleyball 2 times per week. I am active. I shouldn't be gaining weight. I also notice that I sleep a lot, especially on the weekends when I have days off. I wonder if my Serotonin levels are too low. I am on medications, and they seem to work but again, I sleep way too much and the weight gain is impossible to accept. Can you help me figure this out?
