Can Lower Libido And Fatigue Be Attributed To Celexa Drug Taken For Anxiety And Stress?
hi sam . thanks fro hearing me out here. first, I am a doctor of psychology with a large degree of education in psychopharmachology. having said that, I have a question for you, but I want you to please be honest if this is not an area of speciality...
I have been on celexa 20 mg/day for about 9 months to help with anxiety, stress and irritability. it has helped but makes me a bit more tires and definitely I notice a lower libido. I am in my 40's which is causing a concern for me. I educate my patients on a regular basis to these side effects, but I wanted to get your input??i

Well yes there is a good possibility that celexa has resulted in low libido and general fatigue since it is known for causing sexual side effects such as low libido, anorgasmia, albeit in a few users only. So may be you are one of such patients in who celexa has caused sexual side effects.
So what i suggest is that you replace celexa with another anti depressant like wellbutrin XL at dose of 75-150 mg/ day which boosts one's libido as opposed to the actions of other drugs including celexa while in addition it is a good drug for stress and irritability however it is not that effective against anxiety so for that you shall have to take an additional anti anxiety drug such as clonazepam at dose of 0.25-0.5 m twice a day.
