Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m scheduled for back surgery and as of today had to stop NSAID and aspirin products. I cannot take Tylenol. Mr doctor prescribed Tramadol, which works OK for pain but causes bad constipation. I ll be taking Dulcolax and drinking lots of water -- and there are always prunes, which are very effective for me. Also, I m wondering if medical marijuana would be an optional painkiller, or if it has properties like the ones I must avoid pre-surgery.

Can Medical Marijuana Be Taken For Back Pain?
Hello, Marijuana is not considered for long term use as it can cause addiction. So consult a neurologist and plan for a steroid injection. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
