Can Medication For Cold Or Celexa For Anxiety Cause False Positive In HPT?
I started having some pregnancy symptoms while I was ovulating, it s a week later and I m still having those symptoms. I almost thought my period was two weeks early. I ve taken a few pregnancy tests and they were all negative. I took one when I woke up this morning and it had a very faint (but definitely there) second line. I took another one later on in the day and it was negative again. I have been on Benadryl, ibuprofen for a cold. And I take celexa for anxiety. Could any of those cause a false positive?
Pregnancy tests would only be affected by hormonal medications since the test detects the hormone HCG.
These medications would not affect a pregnancy test result.
HCg is released in increasing amounts as pregnancy progresses and is usually accurately detectable by day 11 to 14 after conception. If this time frame has passed, then any pregnancy test done would give you a definitive answer.
If this time has not passed, then you should wait a few days and then repeat.
I hope this helps
