I have memory loss as a result of an IV magnesium sulfate overdose. Its been several years and although it has improved somewhat, I still have a hard time, especially with recalling how long ago something was, remembering an event, or recalling an everyday word (but not the idea of it). How should I go about addressing my memory loss and what types of treatments are available? The incident occurred when I became preeclamptic while having my twins. The overdose was not caught by the doctors, but the doctors said my stats were falling and my husband was even given "the talk."
Prior to this, I was a very intelligent young woman, who had even taken the MCAT and performed well. Now I randomly forget words like 'shoe' or 'garage' and cannot be relied upon to pay bills or remember a doctors appointment. I am always learning strategies to cope, but now I want to do more. Please help.
