Can Menopause Take Place Before A Woman Turns 45?

Is it possible to go through menapause before the age of 45? I have been diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, I am 41 years old and haven t had a period since November 2016, I have gained at least 20 pounds since then, is that normal or am I going through menapause?

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
It seems your amenorrhea is due to hormonal imbalance caused by the ovarian cyst. You need consultation of endocrinologist &gynecologist for managing your problem.
Thanks.
