Can Menstrual Bleeding During Intercourse Cause Any Disease?

so my bf and I had protected sex in the night and then in the morning his penis was just rubbing around my labia, when we noticed some blood on his shaft. He quickly wiped his penis with a towel and we went on to have sex after he put on a condom. Later on i realized i had got m period over night. Is there any chance of any of us getting any sort disease?
