Can Menstruation Loss Be Due To Stress Or Weight Loss?

Hi!

I'm 43 and have had regular menstrual cycle all of my life (exactly every 28 days). I've recently been through an intense amount of stress (loss of my husband to cancer, loss of my father to cancer, loss of my job and now my mother has cancer). I've lost approximately 40 pounds due to all of this stress and for the first time in my life I've skipped my period. I'm 5'7" and now 120 pounds. I exercise every day by walking or running (if my knees can take it). Can skipping my monthly be due to stress or the recent sudden weight loss or perhaps can I be experiencing the beginning of my "change"? I never had children and my mother's "change" happened after 50 y.o.

I appreciate any advice you may offer.
