General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. * The abortions in early pregnancy ( first 3 months ) is mostly due to hormonal insufficiency. It can be avoided by hormonal replacement very well. The risks to baby due to diabetic mother are- more birth weight of baby, early delivery with respiratory problems at birth, low blood sugar after birth. Tendency of being obese / have type 2 diabetes are some more complications. * You need not be sacred of all these. A good control on blood sugar with proper medication under diabetologist before / through out pregnancy/ having diet advised by a dietician,/ Having ideal life style with pregnancy exercises, walking -- you can manage diabetes & pregnancy very well & avoid all the complications.
Thanks,
