Can Misoprostol Take Care Of A PID?

I had a dnc oct 30th 2013, but my period never came after that so visited the hospital, ran some prengancy test which still showed positive. Ultrasound scan revealed impression of incomplete abortion and infection (PID). Is it possible to have pid, infection yes but pid? I'm told ihave to go for another evacuation but I don't wnt anything surgical. Can medical(misoprostol) take care of this, I need other opinion before I decide what to do next please help? Do I treat infection first or can do both simultaneously (having in mind I'd preder medical than surgical).

Hi,
Misoprostol can be used for abortion but it also has chances of incomplete abortion . Also surgical abortion though it will have higher chances of complete abortion will be risky in PID. I suggest you start antibiotics based on vaginal culture reports and once your PID settles go for the Dilatation & curettage repeat. Or else you start antibiotics and take misoprostol along with it but chances of complete evacuation is less. Feel free to ask further queries
