Can Mono Cause Extreme Muscle Swelling And Pain, Like My Left Hand After Holding A Phone For Hours?

I have been dx with mono and going on 5 weeks now with all the usual sx. Lately I've been concerned about some very swollen,painful muscles. After merely holding my cell phone for a number of hours my left hand became swollen and so painful it kept me up all night. This seems very bizarre to me but I know the END attacks the peripheral nervous system so maybe it's not so weird.
