Can Mtpill Be Used To Avoid Pregnancy?

Please write your question... am 17 years old......i had a sexual intercourse yesterday afternoon and even today morning but we avoided entering sperms into vagina.........am scared it may lead to pregnancy so can i take a mtpill (mifepristone) now????....does it have any side effect??

Hi,

MT pill is for pregnancy termination, it is not indicated for prevention of pregnancy. In your case you should take emergency contraceptive pill that is plan B within 72 hours of unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy. OR you can go for copper IUD insertion within 5 days of unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy.
