Can My Wife Take Regestrone 5 Mg Now?

My wife is 45+ years, having a son of 19 years. Her Period was due on 2nd Nov. of this month. I contacted with one Gynae who prescribed regestrone 5mg twice daily for five days.. If she is conceived again, will it harmfull for the baby? If not conceived, what will be the reaction.
