Can Nausea And Vomiting Indicate Stomach Bug?

My husband woke up the AM with stomach pain. He has nausea and vomiting. But, is really not throwing up anything. He said the pain is in his lower right side and is severe. He also is sweating. He has thrown up 3 times in about an hour. He slept fine all night and this came on sudden. Can it be a stomach bug. Or should we be concerned it is something else?

It might be gastritis.
Antacids like Digene or Gelusil syp, 2tsp in 50ml of water three to four times a day half an hour before food.You can also take capsule omeprazole 20 mg once daily empty stomach, before breakfast for a week.
