Can Neosporin Be Applied On The Wound And Surrounding Area Of Cyst Removal?

I had a cyct removed from my shoulder a week ago today, the bandage came off in 5 days so I put on a large bandage I got over the counter. It caused a reaction/rash in the exact outline of the bandage so I have taken it off. Can I put neosporin on the wound and surrounding area and keep it open? Thank you

Hi.
As per your case history you are having irritant dermatitis due to bandage application.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't apply neosporin on it as it is mild irritant
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
