Can Nerve Damage Caused By A Hip Surgery Be Treated?

Several hears ago I had hip surgery and ended with severe nerve damage. Is there a treatment for nerve damage other than surgery? The doctor said he didn t know what caused both legs from the knee to the end of my toes to be icy cold all the time. I was given strong anesthetics and stop breathing for a short time after the surgery. Is there any way to ease to ease the dead feeling that has caused constipation, nausea, dizzy spell, fatigue, loss of weight and more?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

When have you undergone Surgery? How can you say that it is nerve damage? Are you unable to move limbs? Do you have any tingling or numbness?

It may post anesthetized effect. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say whether it is a nerve, muscle or joint problem.

Please consult your neuro-physician as he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
