Can Niaspan Cause Speech Problem?

My mom has just developed a speech problem just after she began taking Niaspan for elevated triglycerides. Her doctors did some bloodwork and an MRI which yielded nothing. They think she may have had a ministroke or a tumor or just stress. They are puzzled. I think it is the Niaspan.
