Can Nodule On The Thyroid Be The Cause For The High WBC Count?

I have had a high white blood cell count now for about a year. I have been seen by a hematologist. My count has been between a 14 to 17.5. Now they have discovered a nodule on my thyroid. Could that cause my white blood cell count to be high. I have got to go get the nodule seen about to see if it is caner.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with high white cell count I will suggest the most likely cause of it is chronic infection so please do a blood culture and urine culture to confirm any associated microorganisms

Concerning your diagnosed nodule in your thyroid gland yes you need to do a biopsy to rule out any form of cancer

I hope this helps Regards
