My son has grommets in his ears. Having had a check up today, it would appear that they are blocked with wax which syringing couldnt clear as the wax has apparently formed into small stones. The doctor has recommended i use olive oil drops and see him again in six months!! Firstly, can i use those drops in a grommeted ear as they are meant to be kept dry?
Hi. I would suggest to use few drops of sodium bicarbonate solution ( under doctors supervision) rather than olive oil and to remove softened wax under operating microscope using suction - removal method. Hope that helps.
