Can One Conceive Without Any Complications After A Medical Abortion?

Hi. My name is Ellen. I was 3wks pregnant and took arthotec (4tablets under my tongue, then another 4tabs 3hrs later, and another 4tabs 3hrs later, making 12tabs. After the first dose I felt cramps and a clot came out. Been bleeding all thru the night, but has slightly reduced this morning. Please does that mean the abortion was successful? Also, can I conceive again without any complications? Eagerly await your response. Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you had passed clots with cramping in the abdomen, then the chances are high that your abortion was complete. There is unlikely to be any problem in conceiving in future, due to this abortion. I will suggest you to get an ultrasound done to confirm that the abortion has been completed and get further treatment accordingly.
