Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Shingles can be contagious. You will not infect any one who had an episode of chickenpox (varicella) in the past. But if you make contact with the people who have not had chickenpox, then there is a chance of spreading infection to the other person. Keep in mind that shingles does not shingle in others, shingles can cause chickenpox in the contracted condition individuals.

Hope I have answered your query. Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
