Can One With Polio And A Broken Leg Walk Again?

My mom is age 65, 5'6 and 175 lbs and was diagnosed with polio when she was 2 years old. She broke her leg, her femur, about 3 weeks and the future remains up in the air. Up until now she was only using a cane, but she was still kind of unsteady on her feet. We are all worried that she'll never walk again. Is that the case in your opinion? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
