Can Overdosing On Eltroxin Cause Hormonal Imbalance?

I hv been on thyroid medication since last 6 months..my periods have been on track for all this while...I had sex just 4 days before my due date(protected)..during my last cycle I had consumed excessive amount of eltroxin 50 due to some stressful situation however am adviced a dose of 50 every morning... Dis time my periods are late.. Could it be a case of hormonal imbalance due to high dosage last cycle or pregnancy.. Am suffering from serious stress issues for last couple of weeks... Please help

Hormonal imbalance can occur because of many reasons. There is a chance that medication has led to delayed periods. Another common factor is stress which might lead to delayed periods.

As you mentioned you had protected intercourse so there are very less chances that pregnancy is the reason behind that.

To clear your doubts, take a urine pregnancy test or visit a gynecologist if the doubt still persists.

Make sure you take your medicines as per your doctor’s advice before making any changes in the dose to avoid any such complications.
