Can Paracetamol Oral Suspension Be Given To An Infant For Mild Fever?

hello doctor, this is krishnaveni.my son is 8 months old and i can feel his body temperature is slightly higher than usual and dont have any thermometer to read the temperature.. i have paracetamol p-125 oral suspension.is it advisable to give this medicine? And please tell me the amount of ml that can i give.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of mild fever which is due to viral/ bacterial infection which is lowering down your immunity and making you prone for infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature. Yes paracetamol is safe to give child. You should take combination of antiviral/ antibacterial drug along with anti-inflammatory drug. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit pediatrician once and get some routine blood investigation done. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will boost immunity. Take nimesulide along with paracetamol as well.Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C.
