Can Permanent Discoloration Occur After Injecting Iron?

I had my 1st iron infusion today. The nurse was pushing the iron but it was going in my arm not my vein. I notice pretty quickly but I have a large dark area on my arm. Is it likely just a bruise or could it be a permanent discoloration from the iron?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
This is temporary staining because of local collection of injectable and blood.
Should have given good cold compress then.
Any way , it is not going to be permanent, it will go away in 2 to 3 weeks time.Hope this suggestion will help you.
Good Luck.
