Can Piercing In Ear Cause Cold Night Sweats And High Temperature?
I got an upper ear piercing on Friday 3rd jan, on Sunday 5th jan I started getting bad kidney pain, feeling very sick and had a very high temperature. Monday 6th jan I've been feeling very sick, I haven't had energy to talk, my head feels like its burning and being crushed, I am having hot and cold night sweats and I recently woke up in the middle of the night shaking-any ideas?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, Ear pricking done at home, without aseptic precaution can cause sepsis & fever with rigor. You mentioned about kidney pain, so it's worth testing for urine infection. -Injection tetanus toxoid, antibiottics, anti inflammatory pills, local antibiotic ointment ,after cleaning the area, will help for ear lobule infection. Thanks.
