Can Pinched Nerve In Neck Cause Tingling / Numbness In Thighs?

I'm suffering from severe tingling and numbness in my left thigh. Recently ( 2 weeks) I have trapped a nerve in my neck/shoulder causing a huge amount of pain and meaning I had to sleep on my back. Over last 5 days, what started as numbness has now become intense tingling, stopping me from sleeping. I have also in last 3-4 days been sleeping in a hotel with a hard bed. also due to jet lag have possibly been spending longer amount of time in bed. Could this hard bed be exacerbating the nerve compression? There is no pain and symptoms seem much worse at night whilst lying in bed trying to get to sleep. I am 35, 5 ' 9'' and around 13 stone a bit over weight but nothing changed recently. No real other medical issues that I think could effect it.
