Can Plastic Burning Smell Cause Any Problem In Breathing?

A microwave meal was left cooking for far too long, the rice and plastic burnt. Now the whole house smells of the horrible burning, even upstairs in the bedrooms. It s been 4 hours since it happened and I had all the doors and windows open for an hour after. Is the smell going to make me and ny children ill? If so how do I get rid of it? It doesn t smell very healthy

HI,
Welcome to HCM,
Inhaling smoke for a short time can cause immediate (acute) effects. Smoke is irritating to the eyes, nose, and throat, and its odor may be nauseating..IF you are not having any symptoms nothing to worry.. if any please consult your family physician soon...
