Can Pleurisy Of Lungs Be Life Threatening?

I just found out my mother who is 59 has pleurisy of the lungs. I read some info on it. Can it be life threating. she just went to hospital last night, and they gave her some pain medication for now to take some of the pain away. what can she do to get better, or does it never go away?

I really appreciate your concern for your mother, pleurisy is not it self a disease but this is consequence of disease and this need to be found out, this is inflammatory process of surrounding of lungs lining could be due to many lung disease and prognosis is depends upon this, hope this information helps, take care.
