Can Pneumonia Cause Viral Inner Ear Infection?

I have had a viral inner ear infection for about nine years. I also had been put on 600 mg of gabapentin around that time/ Also I had Pneumonia right before my sysptoms started. Do you think I got the inner ear problem from the medication or pneumonia? thank you sherry schwartz
