Can Pregnancy Symptoms Occur Although There Is No Pregnancy?
Hello I am a 38 yr old women and I just recently had my implanon removed approx two months ago in hopes of getting pregnant. I believe that I may be pregnant now because I have an unusual period and I m having symptoms like I did with my previous pregnancies. The only problem is that my pregnancy test continue to come up negative. Could I be possibly pregnant or am I suffering from another health condition?
If you are checking for pregnancy too early, the pregnancy tests may come out negative even if you are pregnant. On the other hand, a urinary pregnancy test that is negative 5 weeks after the last period, is probably a true indication of lack of pregnancy.
If you have continually negative pregnancy tests (even after 5 weeks from the last period) and you are having pregnancy symptoms, this may be due to the hormone changes in your body. In some cases, women that strongly desire pregnancy may get symptoms of pregnancy even if they are not pregnant.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
