Can Presence Of Tumor In Uterus, Cause False Positive Test Results For Pregnancy?
I took two pregnancy test one last night one this morning to me they bothe said posotive but to my husband it was a negative because the second line wasnt as dark as the first one now i hear that u can get false posotives because of tumors in your uterus could that be the case with me
With all due respect, I think that your husband is misinformed, both about the pregnancy test result (usually if there are two lines it means the test is positive, even if the second line is faint- that just means the pregnancy is early) and his statement about uterine tumors causing a positive pregnancy test. There are kinds of cancer that produce pregnancy hormone, but they generally occur after an abnormal pregnancy and are quite rare.
I suggest you repeat a pregnancy test in a physician's office so you make sure it is done correctly and then if it is positive have an ultrasound exam to make sure that it is a normal pregnancy.
I hope I have answered your question and that my advice was helpful. Best wishes and good luck, Dr. Brown
