Though very less frequent but a neural pathology in middle ear and adjacent mastoid pathology may rarely cause itchy feeling. But pain, heaviness, decrease hearing are more obvious in mastoid effusions or any inflammation. In this case a repeat mastoid imaging will help finding any subclinical mastoid air cell pathology.
