Can Putting Electric Appliance To Mouth By A Baby Be Create Any Problem?

my 8 month old put the end of a computer cord that was plugged into the outlet into his mouth. He screamed and threw it down immediately and cried for a minute then started acting fine. Can this have caused serious damage and should I take him to the hospital?
