Can Rabies Be Contracted From A Puppy Which Has Been Vaccinated?

My puppy received its Rabies vaccine on Dec. 22nd, 2015. On Jan. 26th of 2016 she bit my daughter, age 4. The bite did not puncture but scraped, thus breaking the skin. They gave my daughter antibiotics to be safe but didn t seem too worried. It s been 10 days and the Public Health Nurse is coming tomorrow to see my dog. My question is, how worried should I be that my dog has rabies or that my daughter contracted it? The dog doesn t seem to be acting abnormally. Help?

hi there

usually if your dog has been vaccinated it is unlikely that your child will get rabies but it is always good to get ur child vaccinated with rabies vaccine rabipur. you can take routine blood tests.

if you dog is up to date with all its vaccine and your child is up to date with the vaccination schedule then it is unlikely
thanks
