Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Rabies is not transmitted through food eaten by animals. Rabies is transmitted from the rabid animal’s saliva when it bites or scratches someone.

Licks to wounds or grazed and broken skin, or to the lining of the mouth and nose, can also transmit the disease.

There are no evidence-based reports of human rabies occurring due to consumption of left out eaten food by the squirrel. So, there is no need to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
