Can Recalibration Of The Pacemaker Cause Increased Appetite?
Hi, I am a cardiac patient 65 years old having had a pacemaker implant in August 2002 and an angioplast in November 2009. The first implantation took place at the Omega hospital , Mangalore and the angiplasty was done at the Columbia Hospital, Bangalore. Recently i.e on the 5th of this month the pace maker was reset. After this i am having a voracious appetite, experiencing weakness on slight exertion, weight loss. Is this due to recaliberation of the pace maker. My BP too, which was normally 110/70 has gone up to `130/80 and the pulse which was 65 to 70 has gone up to 80. Could you please advice. Thanks and regards, Satish
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that no recalibration do not cause any appetite disturbance. It’s recommended for you you to get a thyroid profile and KFT done and consult a cardiologist with your reports.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
