Can Retinal Detachment Cause Bright White Light Flashing In Both The Eyes?

I am having bright white lights flashing in both of my eyes. It has been going on for about two weeks and it is happening more frequently. I am wondering if this could be signs of a retnal detachment and if so could it happen with both eyes at the same time.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having flashes of light.
Flashes of light are seen in retinal tear, traction on retina as in retinitis , as a prodromal symptom before retinal detachment.

Flashes of light needs to evaluated and retinal problems should be ruled out.
Hence I advice you to consult ophthalmologist for further examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
