Can Revisions Be Done On Sleeve Surgery?

I had sleeve surgery 3 yrs ago, I was 420 lbs, I lost down to 199lbs, I need help I have regained 39 lbs., since I retired 1 1/2 yrs ago, I am 64, I have had nerve pain down my legs & feet since Nov 28, 2014, my question is Do they do revisions on Sleeve surgery. I am just too ashamed to go see my Dr.

Hi,

Of course, the gastric sleeve surgery, have also many regrets like in your case, as 50% of all patients, undergone this procedure, regain their original weight or very near to it, within 5 years of the procedure. For, a massive weight loss, some may opt for gastric bypass surgery.

However, despite the procedure of gastric sleeve surgery being less effective as compared to gastric bypass surgery, one of the main benefits of gastric sleeve surgery is that, multiple revisions are possible in this procedure.

However, you are advised to consult your doctor in this regards, who may advise you accordingly with reference to benefits vs risks of revision of the process. Still, even after revision, you will have to follow the healthy diet routine to avoid the weight gain again in future.
