Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am interested in taking a saffron extract. Friends have told me that it would help me lose weight. I m 60, 5 8 and weigh 170. About eight years ago, I developed high blood pressure, and have been taking 10 mg of amlodipine, which works. (My BP is 128/80.) I m sensitive to some herbs; ginseng makes me euphoric for a few days but then I have trouble sleeping. Astragulus makes me dizzy. But I am interested in taking saffron for weight loss and mood elevation. Good idea? Bad idea? The dosage of the herb, sold thru Amazon, would be 80 mg.
