Can Scar Due To Blood Gases Cured Which Turned Into White Patch?

Hi my daughter was born prematurely and was kept in hospital for several weeks. During this time she required blood gases to be done frequently. She is now almost 8 months and the scars on her heels have turned into solid white spots, one of the larger spots has changed into what I can only describe as a large pale blackhead. Is this normal, will these scars cause any discomfort when she starts walking? Is there anything I can do to either help them disperse or heal?
Thank you

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of planter keratoderma (thick hard skin on soles)

They might cause her discomfort while walking because as you mentioned they are hard, so pressure over them might cause her pain during walking.

If i was your treating doctor i would have advised that you apply a good moisturizing cream OR a salicylic acid based ointment twice daily to loosen them up and to keep them soft and pliable.

take care
regards
