Can Severe Thirst And Frequent Urination Be Due To Diabetes?
Hi, I was diagnosed with pre diabetes two years ago. Since then even though I do exercise and eat ok I can feel symptoms coming on like extreme thirst, running to the bathroom every 45 minutes to an hour, and extreme hunger for no reason. My blood sugar fasting have been high over the last two years...last friday it was 126, and this morning 127, but two years agao i had bs fasting in the 130 s...is it possible that I am a Diabetic even though the AC1 came back as 5.8?????

If the HbA1c is recent then it is unlikely that you are a diabetic.
The fastings may be partially influenced by the meal taken the evening prior to the reading.
Metformin can be used in prediabetes and diabetes. In prediabetics it is used to delay the progression to overt diabetes.
You can consider the use of this medication to help with your prediabetes.
